You have the right to expect that your tax dollars will be properly used for the efficient and effective delivery of city services. With the growth we are experiencing, it's already a challenging task to keep up with community needs. I promise to be actively involved in efforts to streamline and enhance city programs and to be a watchdog for your money as long as I'm serving.
We need to renew our commitment to good management practices at City Hall. Our employees and our customers–you–deserve nothing less. We need to support a strong, trained and qualified management team who will listen to your priorities, set department goals for meeting your needs and manage our employees to those goals and outcomes. The Mayor and City Council have to work together to ensure the budget reflects those priorities and we need to evaluate our management team on their ability to deliver on time, on budget and to your satisfaction.
I have enjoyed working on critical legislative and operational issues as City Council President and have the relevant experience to do so as Mayor.
